THE secrets and stories of musos who rocked Perth pubs in the 1970s and 80s are about to be told.

Following the success of local Facebook page Lost Bands of Perth, Channel Nine will take viewers on a Perth pub band revival in a documentary charting the days when music was live and loud in a sleepy city where legends were made.
Anyone over 40 would likely have seen V-Capri — at the very least. {jrYouTube_embed} invalid value received for "youtube_id" parameter ()
“There were so many huge personalities and very talented musos who worked hard and often partied with the same energy,” the TV show’s host Dean Clairs says.
Former V Capri drummer and music historian, Alan Simpson, will recount what it was like being part of the scene during Perth’s golden era of rock.
“It was a lifestyle back then,” he said. “Everybody went to see bands. It was a way of meeting people. Image was everything, glam to punk to disco. Who could forget the big hair and shoulder pads of the eighties? There was even a touch of makeup for all.”
Pub Bands: Legends of Perth will feature classic clips and interviews with Loaded Dice, Dave Warner, The Elks, The Fingerprints, The Boys, The Jets, Seal and the Beam, V Capri and many more artists who shaped the local music scene.
Clairs added: “When the likes of V Capri or the Frames come together for gigs these days, they always get a huge crowd because people want to relive the good times they had.
“Pub Bands: Legends of Perth will appeal to the fans of these bands who want to hear the stories from the key players of the time.”
