HIGHER NOTE: WAM’s artist workshop

@ State Theatre Centre of WA, Northbridge

WAM’s Higher Note workshop series returns offering development and networking opportunities for emerging WA songwriters!

After the resounding success of the Higher Note songwriters workshop series in 2016, WAM is excited to announce that this year WA based artists will again have a similar opportunity with applications now open for Higher Note 2017.

Aimed at self-managed musicians in the early stages of their careers, Higher Note is a bespoke workshop program open to all WA-based musicians who want to take their careers to the next level, offering unprecedented access to career advice and networking opportunities with some of Australia’s most experienced industry representatives.

Facilitated by Scott Adam (North Metropolitan TAFE, ex-manager of WAMi award winner Ruby Boots) the series features presentations from some of Australia’s leading experts in all things music. Topics covered will include strategy, publicity & social media, business management, touring, legal and much, much more.

The two-day series runs from Thursday 14 – Friday 15 September at the State Theatre Centre of WA in Northbridge, thanks to Perth Theatre Trust. Spaces are limited and the experience is one of a kind, so WAM is seeking expressions of interest via application by 5pm , Thursday 17 August .

Successful applicants will also be required to pay a one-off course fee of $110 (WAM members) / $160 (non-members). With so much invaluable advice on offer, this is a series not to be missed by all emerging WA-based musicians keen to find ways to excel in their music careers.
