Good news, my song 'Gonna Blow Your House Down' is now available when you buy the incredible audiobook 'The Return of The Big Bad Wolf' by Marko Van Dango, available from Amazon Audible and iTunes, it's a steal. I used 9 different character narrations on my book.
The song has been taken down from stores, but will be available 'if' or 'when' my audio book gets approved, hopefully that should be by 23rd December 2022
Hoping to get my new song uploaded in due time and maybe some more videos. I finished 'Gonna Blow Your House Down' but I am also trying to get a different version of the song completed, I've been experiencing problems with the release of my song on the record label that I am using, as the French would say, 'C'est le Vie' (such is life).
In my hometown of Marske-by-sea in northeast England, there is a toilet block on the way out of Marske that usually gets covered in Graffiti, however, the local Council may have paid somebody to do an aesthetically pleasing image, which I have uploaded.
I decided to write some poetry about it that I hope you'll like.
I have posted the text below;-
Is it a plane, balloon or Kite?
Or could it be a girl taking her first flight?
On her, there are no strings
She's free as a bird, without the wings
In windy weather
She's light as a feather
That's young Heather
She's blown away
On a windy day
On a toilet wall, sited on Marske Stray
Is it a Banksy, since he's the Papacito
Or maybe it was painted by a Jovencito
Whoever it was, I'd like to meeto
It's the kind of talent that I'd like to acquire
In works of Art that do inspire
To earn loads of dosh and then retire
So, it's back to the drawing board once more
To find the brush to paint the door
It'll be no Mural, I can assure
The hairs on my brush are getting fewer
So, the next time you go out for a walk
Open your eyes wide just like a hawk
The things you'll see might fill you with wonder
Unless of course, there's rain and thunder
The sights will remain in your memory
as you'll recall, whilst drinking your tea
So, may your world be full of colour
To enrich your life and make it fuller
I have written two 'books' or should I say, 'short-stories' about 'The Big Bad Wolf,' which books are not suitable for children, the age bracket would be mid-teens to adults. It had been my intention to get my books narrated, but as with most people, lack of money is the problem. Anyway, in my second 'book' 'The Return of The Big Bad Wolf' he has a successful record called 'Gonna Blow Your House Down' and so I had to write the song, especially if the book would have been narrated. I'm currently in the process of getting it recorded, I anticipate two versions of the song, the Wolf is a rapper, but the first version is likely to be 'funky' (maybe), but I hope to get a rap version done too.
The kindle version (which are the cheap versions) of both my books by Marko Van Dango, are available on amazon in Australia and in Germany should anybody be interested.
Finally completed the 'son' of 'Tickety Boo.' An Irish version that stands alone in it's own right. This song was written in response to a suggestion made by Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio in Ireland. I had sent Tickety Boo to the Irish Eurovision team to see if they wanted to use it, with obvious modifications, since the song is typically British. The Irish Eurovision team had already chosen their candidate but sent my song onto Ryan. He interviewed me on his show and suggested doing an Irish version and that instead of Tickety Boo, he said that in Ireland they would use Ceart Go Leor (Kart Go Lore- phonetically). I eventually wrote some more lyrics suited to an Irish audience and found an amazing talent online in the form of Neil Fitzgibbon and he composed and arranged the music with an Irish feel, but sticking to the original structure / format. The result was an amazing job done by Neil, Ciaran (the vocalist) and others. I'm really happy with the result. I have also been working on another song if I'm able to get it complete. Watch this space.
Ordinary guy just trying to make a living and if I bring joy to people then that's a bonus. Native of the UK, we have a beautiful country with so much diversity in scenery and accents and I have been privileged to see some of it but still many parts to explore. Grown up with an appreciation for music of many genres and as we age so do our tastes change and viewpoints. There are many talented songwriters and singers and whilst most of my music tastes are of years gone by I still appreciate the quality of the modern day music. The same is true of Art, there are so many styles and mediums and I used to enjoy visiting a local Art Gallery and like music it is what appeals to us that we value and it can give us a greater appreciation for the variety that we can all enjoy.
