About V Capri

V Capri were a new wave/power pop band formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1984, lead vocalist Tod Johnston (Manic D) and guitar player Damian Ward (Flavours, Perfect Strangers), they joined with Lance Karapetcoff on key-boards, Michael O'Brien on bass guitar and Alan Simpson on drums (both of which were in Harlequin Tears). The band was prominent in Perth and also launched their debut solitary, "Only a Movie" on the independent Theatre Label in April 1985, which got to the Perth top 10 but did not get to the top 50 across the country. Success in Perth led to authorizing with Mushroom Records and the launch of more songs but they were incapable to move their appeal in Perth to the eastern states.
